Site of original Sams-Walker homestead. Developed to offer picnic area, short hiking trails, and access to the Columbia River. Like the St. Cloud site, the Sams-Walker Day Use site was not developed as a non-motorized boat access point. As such, if carrying a boat, it is a bit of a long walk from the parking area to the river, and the access to the river can be a bit difficult to negotiate.

This site also has available camping.

The Hamilton Island boat ramp is located just downstream of Bonneville Lock and Dam on the Washington shore of the Columbia River in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The Hamilton Island Boat Ramp is near the former location of the lower end of the Cascade Rapids on the Columbia River. The area has been a hub of activity of thousands of years. Referred to as Strawberry Island by Lewis and Clark, the island marked the lower end of the Cascade Rapids which were a 4-6 mile stretch of rapids requiring a portage. Unimproved non-motorized launch near the mouth of the Columbia Slough and the Willamette/Columbia confluence at Kelley Point Park. The parking lot is small, and it can be a tangled portage down to the water from your car, not to mention potentially difficult parking when the site is busy. The 104-acre park offers paved and unpaved trails, picnic tables, restrooms, a reservable picnic area, and grassy areas for frisbee or the like. Small public boat ramp located at River Mile 18.2 on the Multnomah Channel, directly adjacent to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Sauvie Island Wildlife Refuge and across the channel from the Burlington Bottoms wetland. The ramp is located at the site of an old ferry line that connected Sauvie Island to the mainland.

This lush 120-acre regional park is located on the Columbia River about 2 miles west of Vancouver Lake Park. Frenchman’s Bar was dedicated in 1997. The facility is a well lighted, secure marina located midpoint on the Multnomah Channel at river mile 14 (land mile 16 on Hwy 30). The marina includes a fuel dock dispensing gas, diesel, and propane, a small convenience store, restrooms included with showers, washers and dryers for tenants and for the public. 'Rocky Point Landing,' as this locality was known in the 1870's, was the eastern terminus of a road that meandered through the hills between Hillsboro and Sauvie Island. Concrete boat launch into Multnomah Channel, and a second dirt launch (no dock) into Little McNary Lake. Sauvie Island Wildlife Area Parking Permit required to park at the site. Permit can be acquired from the general store on Sauvie Island right next to the bridge.
