To carry out our scientific mission, the Estuary Partnership and its partners continually work to identify, assess, and respond to trends in the lower Columbia River and estuary. In addition to our on-the-ground Ecosystem Monitoring and Restoration Effectiveness Monitoring work, which helps inform these efforts, we also carry out a variety of additional research projects to fill other needed knowledge gaps.
Our structure and ecosystem-based approach allows for broad-scale inquiries and research designed to support management efforts in the region. Our staff works closely with a regional panel of experts that comprise our Science Work Group, to ensure that our research efforts are robust, scientifically defensible, and applicable to solving our ecosystem’s natural resource challenges.
