Volunteer planting season success

We đź’š our volunteers! We love them because they show up, rain or shine, to plant native trees and shrubs along salmon-bearing streams and rivers.

The 2022-23 planting season has ended and we couldn't be more excited to share what you all accomplished. 466 volunteers planted nearly 15,000 trees and shrubs across six parks and natural areas in Oregon and Washington.

“Volunteering with the Estuary Partnership this season has been a great way to get outside and pitch in to help restore and protect the natural habitats and biodiversity of our area,” said Dan Rubado (pictured above). “It was a lot of fun – and a lot of and digging. I was glad to be able to contribute a small bit to the Estuary Partnership's larger restoration efforts.”

Sometimes in the sunshine, but often in rain, volunteers helped to advance the restoration along streams and in important natural areas. Over the years, the actions of our volunteers will grow (literally!) into excellent habitat that benefits salmon and other wildlife.

“The thing I like about volunteering is planting more trees to help with restoring fresh air, cooling the water, and providing habitat for the animals," said Mike Klein (pictured above). "It is good for the environment and a good way to give back to the community.”

If you were one of the amazing 466 people who joined Dan and Mike at a volunteer planting event this past season, thank you! If you weren't able to participate, we invite you to join us when planting season resumes next fall or join us at a plant stewardship event this summer.
