We restore and protect habitat between Bonneville Dam and the mouth of the Columbia River.
Since white settlement in the 1880s until the 1990s, the region lost more than 50% of its floodplain habitats. Since 2000, the Estuary Partnership and our regional partners have restored or protected more than 28,387 acres along the Columbia River and its tributaries, supporting our iconic salmon runs, migrating waterfowl, and other wildlife. Restoration projects also protect nearby landowners from flooding, sequester carbon to mitigate climate change effects, and often improve recreation opportunities.
